The Paper & Glam Book Club

Paper & Glam Book Club Launch

Do you ever feel like you're the last person on earth to read that book everyone is talking about?

This is my relationship with Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)The book came out in 2011 - an instant smash hit - and it's been sitting on my bookshelf haunting me ever since. I need to read this book!

I love to read and I prioritize reading in my weekly schedule, but despite my best efforts, I feel behind on the books everyone is loving. Maybe it's because everyone is hanging out without me reading them. ;)

So here's an idea, how about we read a book together each month? Let's form our own band of aspiring literati.

How is this going to work?

My vision for our book club is simple. We read a book together each month. On or around the 15th of the month, I'll post next month's read here so there's enough time to snag the book. On or around the last day of the month, we'll discuss the book here and on YouTube.

Want to know more? The video goes into more detail:

September's read is If I Stay by Gayle Forman.

Here's the discription from Amazon:

If I Stay CoverIn a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck...

A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make.

I love that last line!

We'll read If I Stay together through the month of September, and at the end of the month, we'll discuss it here and on YouTube.

Make sense? Any ideas for a better book club?

My hope is that our book club becomes a collaborative affair. I'd love to hear what you've read and loved, what we should read next, and what book everyone is talking about in your circles.

Are you in? Let's raise our coffee mugs and turn some pages together.

Glam Office Inspo

The Glam Office

Can I share a little life update with you?

I quit my job. I resigned to take an opportunity that allows me to work from home and travel. While finishing out my days in my current position I've been dreaming of turning the library into a home office and collecting glam office inspiration.

I can use some help deciding which desk to work from and other office essentials. Shall I work from this gold and white desk from PB Teen?

PB Teen A Frame Gold Desk

Or this glass and silver desk from West Elm?

West Elm Glass Desk

I love the simplicity and dimensions of the West Elm desk, but the gold base on the PB Teen is beautiful. What do you think?

Kate Spade Nesting Boxes

These Kate Spade Nesting Boxes are already in my office waiting to be organized and fit into my expedit 4x4 from Ikea.

I loved the SS Print Shop Office on The Glitter Guide in all it's confetti-filled splendor.

Light and Bright Office

I want to keep the room light and bright like this gorgeous office.

Kate Spade Inspired Office

...and integrate some Kate Spadey elements like those detailed in this post.

What else needs to be in my office? A hot pink typewriter perhaps?

Have a great Tuesday, see you soon.
